Ms.
Rebecca “Becky” McCombs Whitworth, 50, 0f 1232 Webb Drive, Shelby, NC went
to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Cleveland Regional Medical
Center in Shelby, NC. She was born on March 25, 1962 in Cleveland County.Becky was a member of First Baptist Church of Earl. She was employed with Cleveland County School System as a teacher’s assistant.
Becky enjoyed reading and visiting with family and friends. She adored her daughter Rozlyn and her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Charles, Jr. and a brother, Bo Duncan.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Alean McCombs; a daughter, Rozlyn McCombs; two grandsons, Brock McCombs and Amar’e Eskridge all of Shelby; three sisters, Mrs. Sherry Williams (Gene), Ms. Martha Merriweather and Mrs. Lynn Adams (Larry) all of Shelby; two brothers, Mr. Kenneth Michael McCombs (Raleen) of Providence, RI and Mr. John Wesley McCombs of Shelby; her former husband and friend, Mr. Nolan Whitworth of Shelby; a very special cousin, Mr. Nathan Jackson (Anie) of Owings Mills, MD and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Earl with Rev. Randy Thurman officiating and Rev. Simon McClain delivering words of comfort. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the church on Saturday.
